Résumé
The communication presents some reflections about the theoretical and methodological approach of public policy dismantling in Latin America. The PP-AL Network and OPPA have initiated joint reflections and analyzes on the dismantling of agricultural and rural development policies, in particular through the first surveys that led to joint publications. Among other theoretical and methodological approaches, the members of these networks applied the analytical framework of "policy dismantling" by Bauer et al. (2013) conceived mainly around social policies in Europe. This framework proposes a typology of dismantling strategies based on their political cost to the government. This communication is divided into two main sections. The first one introduces the policy-dismantling framework and brings lessons and perspectives from its first applications to rural and environmental policies in Latin America. The second section examines other complementary or previous approaches that can help us to analyze and monitor the dismantling of public policies for the rural sector.
