A large body of research has been classified social media in a number of ways, for example it can be based on the functionality linked with the type of application (Safko,2010) or based on the characteristics of blogs, wikis, podcasts, social networks, forums and content communities (Mayfield,2008) and also Cook (2008) classifies social media using the term of the "4Cs", namely communication, co-operation, collaboration and connection. b. Size matters on SME's For the last two decades, small and medium-sized enterprises (SME's) have been shown to be important numerically and economically to a country. [...]using social media is not as simple for business, as it requires a specific strategy for each type, it requires time and resources for the various platforms and a way to measure it, if the adoption of such media allows them to achieve the business goals intended. 2. Findings and implications a. Use of social media The results gathered from this research, indicates that the most commonly used social media from the tourism offices is Facebook with 82% from the 100% of the larger tourism offices.
