Résumé
The purpose of this research is to prepare the salads for so called fourth "range" market. It means all the fresh products ready to consume which one can find in packets in the supermarket. The trimming consists in the elimination of the parts of the salad which can't be commercialized (core, damaged or green leaves), so that only the white parts are kept. A vision system could guarantee a constant quality (a homogeneous colour of the selected product) and in the same time increase the yield of matter comparing to the manual trimming. A prototype has been built in laboratory to verify the feasibility of a such automatization. Tests have been done mostly on the curly lettuce.
Le but de cette recherche est de préparer les salades destinées au marché de quatrième "gamme". Cela correspond à tous les produits frais prêts à consommer que l'on trouve emballés en sachets au supermarché. Le nettoyage consiste en l'élimination des parties de la salade qui ne peuvent pas être commercialisées (coeur, feuilles vertes ou abîmées) de sorte que l'on ne garde que les parties blanches. Un système de vision pourrait garantir une qualité constante (une couleur homogène du produit sélectionné) et augmenter parallèlement la quantité de feuilles par rapport au nettoyage manuel. Un prototype a été élaboré en laboratoire pour vérifier la faisabilité d'une telle automatisation. Des essais ont été réalisés surtout sur la laitue frisée.
