Critical path control constitutes one of the fundamental step in circuit design and optimization. Based on an incremental path search algorithm we address the problem of delay performance driven path classification. A specific tool has been developed (POPS: Performance Optimization by Path Selection), and validated through comparison of path evaluation with respect to EPIC tools after delay/power optimization.
