Abstract
Since a few year our team works on énantiomorphes and diastereo electives syntheses of neuroexcitatory amino acids. The analogues of aspartate and glutamate are involved in many brain diseases: ischemie, epilepsy, Huntington's and Alzheimer 's diseases.... Our research in cognition's domain has been extended to studies of the peptide neurotoxins. the omega-agatoxins: A,B,C isolated from the venom of the funnel web spider Agenelopsis aperta, has been identified as a highly selective blockers of P-Type calcium channels. The 48-aminoacids sequence of w-AgaIVB has been investigated. Since the loop containing the tryptophan 14 seems to be essential for toxin bonding, we focused on a cyclopeptide analogues of the toxin.
