Abstract
The EOSC-Life project has been funded by the EU in the context of initiatives for the empowerment of Research Infrastructures (RIs). 13 RIs collaborate to create an open, digital and collaborative space for biological and medical research, by enabling interoperability of the data, in line with the FAIR principles, by leveraging technologies such as APIs for access to data, ontologies for semantics sharing, and workflow management systems for orchestrating access to data and tools and composing pipelines. The project has fostered the adoption of technologies for the cloud deployment of workflows for data analysis and integration by addressing three major points: software and tools packaging, workflow composition and execution, and registries. Two new tools were developed: the WorkflowHub (https://workflowhub.eu/), a registry for describing, sharing and publishing workflows, and the LifeMonitor (https://crs4.github.io/life_monitor/), a service to support the sustainability and reusability of published workflows.MIRRI has implemented the public APIs for its information system MIRRI-IS. It has contributed by registering the specifications for the MIRRI-IS, including datasets for microorganisms, plasmids and viruses information in FAIRsharing and is now improving the FAIRness of MIRRI-IS through the implementation of an associated Dataverse platform. A MIRRI Galaxy server is being developed and will include workflows of interest for its community of users.
