Abstract
The detection of micropollutants in aqueous media is a crucial issue for environmental protection. This study presents the development of graphene-based electrochemical microsensors for detecting isoproturon, an herbicide classified as a priority micropollutant requiring monitoring in water bodies in the European Community. The graphene used in this study was synthesised by chemical vapour deposition (CVD) on copper. The manufacture of the electrode is described and supported by physical (optical and electronic) and electrochemical characterisations. The results obtained on graphene functionalised with a molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) have led to a sensitivity and selectivity that demonstrate the potential of graphene-based sensors for environmental monitoring.
