Abstract

This study was carried out in an attempt to identify the origin and the different processes of recharge of one of the largest confined aquifers of the world, Continental Intercalaire (CI), at its outcropping part in southern Tunisia (Eastern piedmont of Dahar). Environmental isotopes (2H, 18O, 3H) and geochemical processes occurring within groundwaters were investigated to give an assessment of mineralization and recharge conditions.
