Abstract
France aims at reducing the use of pesticides while maintaining agricultural productivity, which requires an optimal use of sprayers and highlights the need to train users about sprayer settings and good practices. The Néopulvé project aims at meeting these needs, by offering sprayer adjustment training modules tailored to the field crop, viticulture, arboriculture and market gardening contexts. Based on expert knowledge and publicly available information, the training is structured around ten independent modules. They cover the principles and components of sprayer circuits, a guide with tips before purchase, sprayer adjustment and calibration, sprayer maintenance, not forgetting operator health and safety issues. This paper presents the process used to design the training modules, based on defaults issued from the Datapulvé database. A preliminary approach based on “critical” components was then enriched to better consider the global context of sprayers and spraying.
