Abstract
Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a pathogenic bacterium zich is responsible of many serious infections. It was shown that the elastase secreted by the bacterium contributes to its pathogenicity but the exact role was not clearly elucidated. This is why we undertook to study some of its enzymatic properties in collaboration with the Laboratory of Pr J.Wallach wing product this enzyme and realized our biological tests;The PsE specificity is evaluated in peptide synthesis and in peptide hydrolysis. Then the goal of the project C.E.D.R.E. is to synthesize optically pure aka amino acids and peptides to test them as substrates or inhibitors of the elastase PsE.2,3 and 4 Pyridylalanine are the analogues of Phenylalanine. 7-Azatrptophane is the analogue of Trp and is used as very potent fluorescent probe in peptide sequences.Azatyrosine is the analogue of Tyrosine. It is synthesized in Lebanon.
