Abstract
The Neolithic establishment of Monte Revincu is located in the North of Corsica at thirty kilometers to the West of Bastia. It’s implanted on the summit and at the feet of a mountain which is 356 meters high in a mineral landscape, east of the desert of Agriate. The researches revealed about fifty arranged structures with domestic or funeral vocation. They are spread over about ten hectares. Most of them are attributed to the last third of the 5th millennium BC. Among those, around thirty are bounded by paving stones. They contain from one to three levels of radiers of stones, devices of wedging or holes of posts as well as subdivisions. Some levels of ground containing rests of earths arrangements allows to approach the precise return (restoration) of domestic units. Among the other structures, ten, including 3 dolmens with corridor and at least 4 coffers. The data collected during 8 excavations campaigns allow to interpret this Neolithic village and its links with the «pre-megalithic» monuments. An environmental approach allows to evaluate the territory exploited in synchrony with the site and to decifer the influences between societies and environment. This work also gives a new image of the Corsican megalithism because with the site of Monte Revincu, appears as one of the first places of emergence of the western Mediterranean megalithism, together with Catalonia and the Atlantic facade.
