Résumé

External snapping hip (ESH) or lateral coxa saltans is when the iliotibial band (ITB) passes abruptly over the greater trochanter, causing snapping and potential pain during hip movement. Diagnosis is primarily clinical, with ultrasound used to confirm the snapping. Treatment involves a surgical technique to release the ITB, with careful consideration to avoid sciatic nerve injury. Ultrasound allows to realize a mini-invasive surgery under local anesthesia.
