Résumé
The cell cycle has two main phases: interphase and mitosis. In interphasc the cell nucleus remains intact and chromosomes are replicated. In mitosis the cytoplasmic network of microtubules breaks down and is reassembled into the mitotic spindle, whilst the chromosomes condense and attach to it (metaphase). Then the spindle segregates the chromosomes (anaphase), ensuring that each daughter nucleus will have one copy of every chromosome. At the end of mitosis the cell divides to form two complete daughter cells that are genetically identical to the parcnl.
