Résumé
The purpose of this chapter is to discuss the role of growth factors and cytokines in testis development and function. The testis is an organ that has two major functions: the production and secretion of steroid hormones (testosterone, dihydrotestosterone, and estradiol) and the production of competent spermatozoa. These two functions are exerted in a different manner during the fetal and the adult life of the male gonad.
