Abstract
Based on an anthropological research conducted in Marseille in a hospital setting, the author describes, in the early 1990s and before the advent of triple therapies, the complexity of care practices and remedies for people with AIDS. The article testifies to daily difficulties managing the disease and stigma fears for people with the virus.
