A digital twin connects genuine physical systems with matching virtual representations and is one of Industry 4.0's enabler technologies. Many academics are now interested in the use of digital twin models with an emphasis on manufacturing, preventive preservation, and services after-sale. With the growth of the new IT, the era of data-driven product design is quickly approaching. The "digital twin" is best decribed as the normal amalgamation of information among a real and a simulated machine in any track. Moreover, it is a combination of various recent skills such as sensor technology, computer networks, Internet of Things, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and machine learning, big data analytics, and virtual and virtual reality. The essential technology for employing a cyber-physical scheme is supposed to be a digital twin skill. It is a simulation system that, by completely consuming physical representations, sensor updates, operation antiquities, and other facts, integrates interdisciplinary, multi-physical quantity, multi-scale, and multi-probability data. It is a plotting method that permits for the virtualization of the whole lifespan of a part of corporal gear. It is Industrial 4.0's foundational technology. The key topics covered in this chapter are as follows: (1) the digital twins' definition and traits; (2) the different types of digital twins; (3) the growth of creation design; (4) the digital twins' applications.
