Abstract
Ceidae is a small group of chalcid wasps, previously classified as a subfamily of the polyphyletic Pteromalidae. Ceidae comprises three described genera: Bohpa, Cea, and Spalangiopelta. In this chapter, we provide a morphological diagnosis of the family, discuss historical concepts on the circumscription and higher classification of Ceidae, and summarize the literature about their distribution, diversity and biology.
