Abstract
We present ADE-4, a multivariate analysis and graphical display software.Multivariate analysis methods available in ADE-4 include usualone-table methods like principal component analysis and correspondenceanalysis, spatial data analysis methods (using a total variancedecomposition into local and global components, analogous to Moranand Geary indices), partitioning and classification methods, discriminantanalysis and within/between groups analyses, many linear regressionmethods including lowess and polynomial regression, multiple and PLS(partial least squares) regression and orthogonal regression {principalcomponent regression), projection methods like principal componentanalysis on instrumental variables, canonical correspondence analysisand many other variants, coinertia analysis and the RLQ method, andseveral three-way table (k-table) analysis methods. Graphical displaytechniques include an automatic collection of elementary graphics correspondingto groups of rows or to columns in the data table, thus providinga very efficient way for automatic k-table graphics and geographicalmapping options. A dynamic graphic module allows interactive operationslike searching, zooming, selection of points, and display of datavalues on factor maps. The user interface is simple and homogeneousamong all the programs; this help makes the use of ADE-4 very easy fornon specialists in statistics, data analysis or computer science
