Abstract
Stylistic analysis is the examination of the linguistic processes implemented by a writer. It borrows tools and approaches from grammar, linguistics, rhetoric, poetics, and semiotics to describe the use that an author makes of this or that linguistic element. The work is divided into five chapters, covering commentary methodology to training through the study of significant genres. Applications to texts offer the student a path from analysis to detailed planning.Answer keys, theoretical clarifications, selective bibliographies and glossary accompany the student's work.
