Abstract
Peru's economy relies heavily on marine resources through fishing. Successive crises have led all players, including scientists, to understand these changes in the South Pacific environment. After 20 years of IRD involvement, mainly alongside Imarpe and universities, a number of impacts have resulted from levers highlighted by Peruvian stakeholders: an ecosystemic, cross-disciplinary and multidisciplinary vision combined with the ongoing mobilisation of long-term partnership instruments. This study illustrates how ideas, people and resources have been channelled into achieving impacts that go beyond the mere creation of new scientific knowledge.
